This Tarot insights post is part of a reading from a 3-2-1 spread (reproduced here with permission from my client) that neatly summarises the advisory role of the Tarot.
It shows that once good foundations are in place, good outcomes are virtually effortless. The effort belongs to developing the causes.
In this case it’s sorting information in a specific way to find the ideas that work.
My client was having trouble picking a strategy regarding the presentation of the their business
The 10 of Swords shows an overload of ideas, there are simply too many to handle any one time and a confused welter of thinking is the result. There is a sense of almost being paralysed through too many options rather than too few. The Queen of Pentacles next to the 10 of Swords is a powerful, calming influence. Out of all the court cards, the King’s, Queen’s, knights and pages the Queen of Pentacles always makes me feel the most calm and reassured.
As the Queen she belongs to the element of water, meaning she is very empathetic, gentle and compassionate. Belonging to the suit of pentacles these qualities translate into very practical terms. She expresses her care and her love for others through practical means. Her placement next to the 10 of swords gave me a specific meaning immediately. The meaning is advisory; that in this particular case, it would be wise to filter the ideas by practicality, and practicality alone. Thus the calming influence of the Queen could influence and settle down a mind teeming with too many ideas and help the client choose which ideas were the most applicable in their situation. The emphasis was as much on structure as it was on content. The means of delivery also needed to be addressed on a fundamental, practical level.
The outcome of these two cards working together is Temperance. The practical filter of the Queen sorting out the flighty and teeming world of ideas brings two different qualities together into a harmonious whole. Temperance is a card of success through balancing and harmonising. This means developing a good blend of ideas together with the practical means to deliver them to a wider audience.
Sorting the jumble with Tarot – the outcome
My client felt that this was highly valuable advice as his head had been overrun by too many options and too many ideas creating the sense of paralysis I spoke of in their reading. The suggestion that they run the ideas through a practical filter and concentrate as much on structure as content made a lot of sense in their particular situation. The assurance that this more balanced and practical attitude would result in success in getting their message over to a wider audience went down well. Not because it was a promise made in isolation of current events, but because it is such a natural outcome of applying the qualities of the Queen of Pentacles to the present difficulties of the 10 of Swords.
This is a lovely example of empowerment Tarot working. It is up to us what will happen. The situation is delineated, strategies are offered and outcomes illustrated. There is not a hint of fortune-telling in the process, and this is what made it so refreshing and practical for the client. The reading ended with the client seriously considering changing the structure of their site from Blogger to WordPress, because WordPress has brilliant plug-ins and is far more practical for their needs. Plus they have excellent help for WordPress available to them but not for Blogger.
They also felt they could choose the ideas in the mix that were quite distinct to developing their cause as opposed to the ideas that were more longer term, that could wait until the appropriate framework was in place. This helped to clarify their thinking at a time when they most needed a clear, dispassionate head.
I’m happy to say I had one delighted customer.
